Are you Jealous?

The thought of having someone else take your boyfriend away. Miss Bingley want Mr. Darcy, horrible man in my opinion, to be with her.

I am telling you, it is very important to have pride when he is a jerk. Yes, you may love him with all your heart and soul, and maybe you are so in love with him that it is impossible to think his eyes are not yours. Although love is in your heart, you have to think about yourself. Some guy's are jerks, I have discovered that through this last weeks. Girls are ...... too. Both sexes are horrible to one another, because we both attack each other, feel things for each other and break each other's hearts.

A girl is capable to do the impossible to show her dream guy her love. In the case of Pride and Prejudice Miss Bingley was "quite exhausted by the attempt to be amused with her own book, which she had only chosen because it was the second volume of his," (Austen pg 41).

Love is a reason for prejudice, we want to make him or her feel love for me.  It is important what that person feels or thinks about me because it is the one I love.

Only advice, Don't let love be the only time you think about yourself.

Mom and Prejudice

Who criticizes teenagers the most? Incredibly is not the teachers at school, because they put up with us every single day. Not your dad, because he is almost not a home or because he wants to look younger. Not society, society needs us thats the whole deal. The who is this character? read the title!!!!!!!!! your mom is the person who criticizes you the most.

It is not that I am saying how horrible mother are, I am just saying how they are the most worried about you. Vanity is one thing, mom thoughts are other. "Darling that shirt looks wonderful on you" Universal meaning for this sentence, change of shirt right now. Mothers are really worried about your future and that is why they see the smallest mistake, because your perfect and people have to see it.

"If my children are silly I must hope to be always sensible of it" (Austen pg 21). This quote is only saying that mothers are also sensible at the fact that your just a kid and need space to do whatever you need to do. Still, this mother controlled their habits and manners so that a wealthy man would marry them. Moms depending on the time get worried about you, at that time marriage, at this time your college.

Mom's are great but if you think is prejudice is important in someone's life, then care allot about your mother's feelings.

Gabriela

What About Yourself?

Based on the first chapter, I am thinking Austen should have started with this phrase, "Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity (Another name for Prejudice) to what we would have others think of us". Its is truly acknowledged that people at high school only think of vanity, in this book's meaning of it.

Tell me the truth, have you  ever had an out of dress code in which you don't think if you look handsome or pretty. In the case of girls we use perfume and makeup. In the case of guys I have no idea, maybe Cologne and really expensive clothes.

It is absolutely false the old saying, women are not the only vain. Why do women take so long at the bathroom? because we need a replacement session in which we put more makeup on. Why do guys take so  little time at the bathroom? because they only need to pee, because they already know how gorgeous they look.

You see it is true even though you don't think this statement is true. Austen shows us how Elizabeth, the main character did not care about how people like Mr. Darcy thought about her, and this is how all people should behave.

This doesn't mean we can't be vain, it is good to let know people you feel pretty and that is why you use some makeup to show your beauty. It is only a meter for low self-esteem when we use those small things in an exaggerated way.

Human nature made us vain and proud, we only need to know how to manage them.

Gabriela

What´s Important?

Pride or prejudice? Is it better the way you think about yourself or the way other see on you? Well Jane Austen gives us the two views. Pride and Prejudice, is a book that shows how people thought about this important question in the old england, when marriage was the only thing a girl needed.

Austen begins with a simple phrase that for me it expresses the thoughts about that age perfectly, "It is a truth universally acknowledge that a single man in possession of good fortune must be in want of a good wife." (Austen, Pg 1). Almost everyone knows that a rich man must marry a sweet and beautiful girl of his own level at the english society.

Obviously at modern times this is something people like me, feminists, think is something totally negative towards the true meaning of women. We are not another object for men to collect, we are not meant to be part of a man's wealth. Why do I go towards feminist movements? because Austen is leading us there, the first 4 chapters makes us think about our true meaning on earth.

At those times it was accepted, at this times it's not. Why do we still see it? Incredibly, for the same stupid reason. Women doesn't want to be left out of the public scene, marry a rich guy and there you go. Why do women instead of looking for a better way than just run towards this options? Because Society has pulled us there, we only have that option. We are the same society from two centuries ago.

Society is a vicious cycle, it never stopped.

The Final Battle

Hamlet comes to an end, he dies as he drinks from the cup that brought death not only to himself but also to his own mother and Uncle.

Why did Hamlet died? Not only because of the poison, but because of the criticism people did about him just for his weird way of acting. The world is a horrible place where murder takes place every now and then, but this is only because we don't respect ourselves as we are. High School is the same thing, we divide ourselves in different social groups depending on how we act. Since we are young we create a division between people that will cause more suffering in the world, suffering like the one Hamlet suffered because of people calling his actions as the ones from madness.

Shakespeare really worked hard on this book and gave an ending that makes us reflect, not only on the meaning of difference between the way people act, but also on how revenge, love and murder make part of our daily living and how they create the world that each day makes us sadder.

Do you enjoy living?

O Sweetie I killed Your Husband

What are you willing to do in order to get what you want? is killing an option?

In Act 3 scene 3 Claudius, new king of Denmark, is accepting that he killed his own brother, but he claims he did it to protect what he though was "my crown, mine own ambition and my queen" (Hamlet act 3 scene 3 line 59).

The world is full of killing and I accept it. My parents did not raised a dumb person. Killing will never be the answer to world wide problems, just look at Hamlet at the end he killed his friends, family and himself because he thought it was the only way. Was there another way to get revenge? maybe, but Shakespeare is showing us how human mind is programed to kill when we feel menaced, even when it is our own people, our own family, even ourselves.

Is killing the answer?

Acting Skills

It is of great importance to read a script, to read the book if there is one and to know the story by heart if you are going to compete in the world of acting. Shakespeare, which is a theatrical author, is using his play Hamlet to give his point of view towards what he thinks it is a good actor.

For many it is simply the one that knows how to make you laugh, for other the one that knows to say its lines as if he or she was actually saying them in real life.  For me it is simple, a good actor is the one that knows how to explain its character perfectly through the small actions it does. It shows us its deepest feelings, not only sadness but depression and madness. A great actor is the one that keeps the audience interest every time he or she enters the stage although it only says one word because in theater you have to be able to call attention.

Shakespeare thought they where the representation of the "modest of nature" (Hamlet, act 3 scene 2, lines 20-21). He is right because an actor faces the stress of having to act someone completely different from its personality, but that is how humanity works, and for me there is no one that knows human behavior, as an actor does.

To Live or Die

It is easy for people to say they enjoy life, but do they really enjoy it?

Hamlet during the first scene of act three starts questioning what life is really about. In my personal opinion he is right, not only because during your whole life you encounter a so called "rub" (Hamlet, act 3 scene 3, line 73), but also because you are always waiting to go to sleep and encounter that place where your wildest dreams may come true and where problems seem distant and unseen.

Why do we like to sleep? It may be because of how fast the human body get tired, but also because while you sleep you encounter a whole new world full of the things you want the most. A kid would love a world made out of candy instead of the cabbage he had during dinner. Humans want sleep because it is when the mind and that person show the real desires, hopes and goals they want to achieve, dreams are the closest thing people have to knowing how the human mind works. Hamlet gave a new turn to human mind, Why live, instead of sleeping and being in that place that gives you all the things you desire?

Another matter, is how Hamlet talks about dead, yes while you sleep you go to wonderful places, but when you wake up they are gone and your simple life comes back. Isn't it better to die? just forget about everything and be dead instead of suffering everyday for not having the things you desire the most. Maybe this is an extreme but he is right.

Would you prefer living or dying?

A Hamlet's Introduction

Everyone has heard of Hamlet. We at least know its author and maybe that at some point he goes wild or becomes crazy. This introduction is not quite to the book but what the movie about the book is trying to show.

The director hows the watchers how Hamlet is going to be represented and hat will be the means to show the real character created by William Shakespeare. This is of great importance because sometimes the acting can't show the real and true character that may be represented in the script or the actual book.

It is important that directors do this because Shakespeare's plays are not easy to fully understand and by this introduction you may get his wonderful stories better. I expect great things about the play, and I just want to ask,

Is it Hamlet crazy just because he talks to himself way to much?

Gabriela

A Prisoner and Hamlet

Is it easier to play this changing character who has faced death when you are in a correctional? actors in this particular production think they have lived through what Hamlet has lived and that is why they see it in another way.

Shakespeare is not another author you just read and throw away. It is an author that gets to your inner person and make you reflect, even when you are a small kid at a play that now know he hates books. Hamlet is not the exemption. People think that he is totally crazy because he saw his fathers ghost, is he crazy? the same thing happens to this people maybe they are innocent and people judge them or they are guilty but people have not heard they're side of the story.

People will almost always relate to a character in Shakespeare plays and it is by relating that our acting skills get better, because we are representing our inner mind.

To which character do you relate?

Gabriela

Hamlet's Acting

It is very hard to act out a character that changes of emotions like a women in her days. This two particular performances recreate two different perspectives that Hamlet has towards his father's dead. In one he is just criticizing his mother for marrying his uncle. He is sad and feels miserable for what happened to his father, but he can't resist to show this feeling of resent he has towards his mother for what he calls "a dextery to incestuous sheets" (Act 1, scene 2, line 15).

The second performance show us a totally different Hamlet this one has a thirst of revenge and a feeling of hate, because people don't believe what he found out about his father's dead. It is not longer a feeling of sadness but a sentiment of hate and anger towards the man who killed his father and the people who ignored his discoveries and treated him like a "pigeon-liver'd and lack gall" (Act 2 scene 2).

Both feeling are trapped inside him and they come out of him in different times. This two performances are not the same because they represent different feeling Hamlet had at two different times. Although both are great representations of the character Hamlet they can't be compared because of the changing mental situation the main character is suffering at those different timings.

Krapp's Idea Of Life

Again talking about Krapp but not as a young man on a tape but as the old man hearing. This time love may mean something different, this time love may be seen in a different perspective.

While he hears, he refers himself as "that stupid bastard I took myself for thirty years ago" (Krapp). He may be more mature about the aspect of love, or he may now think it is something it only harms you and makes you grow to be bitter. Love may be harmful but at the age he was on the tape love is simple.

Krapp will always have the wrong idea of love. When he was young it was simple, when he was old it was something harmful, what is then the true meaning of love?

Again, I don't know the true meaning of this feeling but I know that although it may look harmful sometimes it is something wonderful. There are 2 sides of love and as there are 2 sides of everything on life. Can we really know it total true meaning? I guess we can't. It is divided in millions of types like the love of a parent and the love for a friend, that people confuse them with a simple crush or a Complex of Edipus but at the end it will always be love.

Love is weird but wonderful.

Gabriela

The Tape's Idea Of Life

In the theatrical piece Krapp's Last Tape by Samuel Beckett, we see two different perspectives about this man's thoughts about love. The tape which is a symbol of him at a young age, shows how at a those ages we don't really know what love means and represents. In the case of the tape, he thinks love is falling for that person you met at the park and that you now dream about that person next to you at night.

This is immature and a very vague significance of love. This is because love is more than meeting someone special, and I know this because although I don't really know its true significance I know it has to mean something more. I know there must be a reason for all those romantic novels and short stories, I know there must be a reason why people get married or kiss. Meeting and dreaming may be the cute part of love, but it the feeling of butterflies inside your stomach can't be something as simple as dreaming how does "She lay streched out on the floorboards with her hands under her head and her eyes closed" (tape).

Love has a lot of meanings but at those ages it may not mean that much.

Rereading The Great Gatsby?

Why read a book you have already read? I guess it is because the first time someone reads a book it pays no attention to it. For example, when I read a chapter I have to reread it about two more times because the first time I never get the enough information. The first time you pass over the lines of the book as if they where useless  information from the book, you only care about the outline of the story, without caring what the insight of it is. The second time, You get more out of it, You get to read more about things like why did Gatsby died? instead of only knowing Gatsby fell in love with Daisy. The Third time you get almost all of it, so instead of only knowing Gatsby died because he killed someone's wife with his car, you get to know that Gatsby killed Myrtle Wilson, wife of George Wilson that was the owner of a Run- out auto shop on his garage on the Valley of ashes, that afterwards took revenge against Gatsby by shooting him.

Sonya Chung, Author of the article The Great Gatsby Revisited, has reread this book about three times in her entire life time and she says that rereading a book its important and that "It’s like I’m a born-again rereader, experiencing a new how a first read can be as different from a second read or a third read as reading two completely different works."

It is very important to reread books, because you get to notice thing such as the different symbols and in depth story inside a literary piece. Chung for example discovered 5 new aspects about The Great Gatsby, that she had never noticed before, until she had read it for the third time. This Five main aspects are:

1. How the Great Gatsby is not a novel about the north East Elite, I agree with her because personally I think that the high class Elite, was represented by the Green Light that Gatsby wanted to obtain or wanted to get to. She says how the book is about us and not the rich people over there, that may mean that it is about the people that don't have all the luxuries those people had but stand on the other side looking at their green light, hoping someday we will get there.

2. Ching notice how Fitzgerald used his sentences to capture the reader's attention more and more, by making them profound and with meaning. Not the simple phrase of Gatsby loved Daisy, but using mire romantic ones like for example when it talks about their love when they lived on the camp site, when he was a soldier and she was just a normal girl. I think this is right, because Fitzgerald, when read carefully, gives the reader a total new experience of how this two people really related.

3. She also talks about the importance of something as simple of Daisy's voice on the story and how this relates to her relationship with Gatsby. When someone reads this book one time, he or she can only get he loved her voice, read it twice and you get how he was in love with her voice because it was like the one of a goddess, but when read a third time you may encounter how Gatsby was totally in love with her voice because it was like the sound of something like a "arrangement of notes that will never be played again". You may notice the significance has totally changed when read various times.

4. Chung also remarks how Fitzgerald exploits the significance of the car with many meanings such as "Who’s driving which car and why convincingly fuels (literally) Gatsby’s inevitable demise, Tom and Daisy’s flight, and Nick’s final revulsion towards the excesses of Eastern privilege.".

5. She finally makes a remark on the characters on the movie of this book. She talks about how, after rereading the book, she noticed that the cast of the movie was nothing like the real characters presented on The Great Gatsby, because rereading gave her a more profound look at the characters insight, appearance and personality.

Rereading a book is really important for the better understanding of a piece of literature such as The Great Gatsby because with this tool we can really get to analyze and enjoy the true meanings of books like this one.

The Pardoner's Tale

This is the last great tale our travelers share during this trip that has left us very valuable lessons. In this one, the lesson is about greediness, and how Human Kind can choose money over life. Hoe many times have you given out someones trust for a something you wanted?

During this story three drunk guys decided to kill someone. Through the years alcohol  has showed its effect on society's morals. That is not the point on the story, because while looking they found a strange guy who told them the location of a bag of gold, and when they found it, greediness took over them. Maybe you prefer to kill you friends to win some more money and at the end with what are you left with? nothing. Does money brings happiness or comfort? although society has taken a long time to discover this, money is not all. You enjoy spending without any pleasure or to be with friends spending it in something that everyone will enjoy? PEOPLE OF THE WORLD MONEY DOESN'T MATTER!.

This story basically talks about this greed will never take us somewhere, because the true meaning of life relays on those who truly love you and respect you.

Going Through The Road Of Good And Evil

The Road, by McCarthy is a story in which human kind has gone to its darker side. During pages 100 through 150 we see how the boy and the father have to face a new human being that leaves all decency behind, and becomes a monster that would do anything for survival.

In this story we see the creation of two groups, the good and the bad bad guys. Good guys represented by the boy and the man, are the ones that would rather starve than leave the little humanity they still have after the catastrophic events that lead to the end of human society as we know it. The bad guys, are those who leave morality on the side, creating confusion and fear between one another, and preventing human race to recover from this tragic event.

The good guys, or this two brave people not only survive and maintain their morals no matter how hungry they are, but they also are able to help they do although they may fight about it. An example of this is the scene of the old man when the boy and the man have the following conversation,
"He was just hungry, Papa. He's going to die.
He's going to die anyway.
He's so scared, Papa.
The man squatted and looked at him. I'm scared, he said. Do you understand? I'm scared.
The boy didn't answer. He just sat there with his head down, sobbing.
You're not the one who has to worry about everything.
The boy said something but he couldn't understand him. What? He said.
He looked up, his wet and grimy face. Yes I am, he said. I am the one."

At the end helping the old man was the answer because in a world turned into ashes we only have one another.

Is it maybe that all the ashes named on the story where created by human mistakes? maybe the author is trying to tell us how we where the bad guys all along and how all our daily actions are converting this world in the piece of land full of ashes and bodies that The Road shows us. Global Warming and war are driving us into that world of destruction in which animals and people are no longer distinguished. Something as normal as calling a friend a really bad name is causing humanity inside each of us to decrease more and more.

Surviving is the excuse for this people to eat between one and other and to kill others like if they where only miserable animals. Is Surviving an excuse? as economics has showed us, there is a substitute for almost everything and this is not the excuse. McCarthy is showing us how we can survive without leaving our morals to the side by his two main character the boy and the man. Maybe this lesson is not only useful in catastrophic events such as the one described in the book, but maybe we can use this new teaching in our daily life. There is always a way to survive a fight or a broken heart without leaving our morals. An example is the book by Meg Cabot The Mediator in which a girl kills herself just because her boyfriend left her. Life always has other options and those options are almost always in favor of decency and dignity.

Never forgetting our humanity is what will give this world another chance to become the Utopia we want it to be.

Existentialism On The Road

Why is it that this man, our main character, needs the little boy to know there is something to live for? Philosophers all over the world have deciphered that any person need another Human Being to know they are alive, because the other are the ones that confirm your existence.

The man in this history prefers to die of hunger before living the kid go to bed without eating. Through out the story the kid and the man have various fights about why the both should eat or why the kid should eat instead of the man. Another example of their bond is this man's wife, which leaves him because he already has the boy. Human kind needs someone else to know they are alive and that there is something worth living for. Why live while dying when you can die and be happy? because there is another human being that needs you to protect him and be part of his or her life, as you need someone to protect you.  Everyone needs somebody to take care of and to be taken care of, everyone needs to know why life is worth living and fighting for and that is why humans need another human being.

At various point of the book, the man shows the boy how much he needs him by telling him things such as "Listen to me, he said, when your dreams are of some world that never was or some world that never will be, and you're happy again, then you'll have given up. Do you understand? And you can't give up, I won't let you." (McCarthy, The Road) With this the man shows how he needs the boy, another human being to know there is hope of surviving the terrible world they now live in.

For who are you willing to live?

A Road Of Ashes

The Road by Cormac McCarthy, is not another sad novel. This is a story in which strength, will and love are the keys of real survival, without leaving aside your morals and the morals of society. During the whole story the two main characters have to fight against various obstacles which hold them from their goal, south.

"Guiding the cart on the curves with their bodies in the manner of bobsledder. It was the first he'd seen the boy smile"(pg 19) Happiness was something taken from this world in which human kind had became something totally different of what it is today, or is it that this book represents the road human kind is heading too? Maybe our world already became this place full of ashes and death bodies all over. We see the different news on TV or the newspapers, in which groups like the FARC or even criminal juvenile organizations kill other people, whether it is directly or by what here in Colombia is called a "Bala Perdida".

In this book we see how the author constantly talks about the ashes. This may be because they are a symbol of the destruction human kind causes. Global Warming, Illegal groups, Black arm market, Drugs and many other things that human kind does to make this world a place full of ashes. McCarthy through his first 5o pages is showing the reader how we through every daily action make our world be better or be burned and turned into ashes. Is there someone to blame about this? The government, the country, the neighbor or why don't we simply blame ourselves and try to change so that this world can become the place we ant it to be.

Human kind has a long way to travel before knowing that we are actually taking care of our planet Earth.

Dying While Your Living

The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, is a poem which uses symbolism to illustrate the authors feelings. The raven, is the typical black bird everyone sees on the cemeteries and funerals. In movies we relate this bird with someone's death as soon as we see it. In this poem the raven is not used to symbolize somebody's death but it represents death itself.

During the whole poem the main character talks about the different ways in which his life has been miserable, and with this he asks the raven the questions he need to ask before going to another world, and the raven just answers never more. With this words "raven said nevermore" we not only see a symbol of how the other world may look like a paradise for who is dying, but its also a way to attract the readers attention by repeating the sounds of the letters E and N making it sound more rhythmical, technique that helps the reader stay focused on the poem. An example of this form of literacy is when the  main character asks the Raven to tell him if "Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!”

Quoth the RavenNevermore.” (Poe, The Raven).

Death is something human kind has feared since the beginning of times, but is it that death is another beginning, maybe we will be better on another life in which suffering is not part of our daily living and happiness is a rule. In the last years philosophers have said that "life is dying, every birthday, every day, every month and every year means you are getting closer to your death, but while you are death its life, because you know that one is never going to end".

Religion has also interfered in what it has to be said about this phenomena that happens to everyone. Buddhist believe in rebirth and ending up in a social class depending on what you did in your last life. Christians believe ing god and think that when you die you will be by his side, and although people deny the existence of ghost many people think they are part of our daily living.

In this poem our author thinks that death means going to another life, a life where you will be better and things like a broken heart will just be a forgotten memory. Now a question you have to ask yourself is what do you think happens after you die?

The Ugly And The Pretty

After the Prologue the story of the Wife of Bath is finally told. Once again this women shows her point by telling the tale of another great Knight that has become a women's servant. Here the author has once again showed his point of all travelers to be the same in power and in will.

In power, this story has shown how even king Arthur had to redeem someone else's life because of his wife. Women has won its place on society by working hard and showing what we are capable of. Is it beauty that has taken us this long? Is it that we are smarter than men? or is it that at the end development has made us grow and notice the benefits of equality?. Having both sides of the story is very important, because in a decision, for example in a company, having a women and a man knowing whats better not only for both of them but for everybody, will create the world that everyone wants to see.

In this story, the knight was saved by a 2 women, but still he was sad to marry the second one, an ugly and very unattractive person. Why is women qualified by beauty? Why are we looked by our looks and not by our minds? In this story the knight learns that his new spouse can be as faithful and loving as any women can be although she is not as pretty, because what it matter its the inside and not the level of cuteness. Women and men are equally smart and must be seen equal, because thats the only way this world can really progress.

Gabriela

The Reason Why The Tale Is Interesting

The wife of bath, is another story told by one of the travelers in which for the first time on this novel we see a women talking about her way to see life. As all of them, this is a love story with a different ending. The author is showing us through this women's side, the other part of what love means. In the past tales, we have only heard what men had to say about this strange and wonderful feeling, but now it is the turn to hear the other part of what it may be the true meaning of love.

Biside a welle, Jhesus, God and man,
Beside a well, Jesus, God and man,
16       Spak in repreeve of the Samaritan:
Spoke in reproof of the Samaritan:
17       `Thou hast yhad fyve housbondes,' quod he,
`Thou hast had five husbands,' he said,
18       `And that ilke man that now hath thee
`And that same man that now has thee
19       Is noght thyn housbonde,' thus seyde he certeyn.
Is not thy husband,' thus he said certainly.

This is how Chaucer presents our new character and one of the reasons she has bee wedded 5 times, but the significance of this story goes beyond the religious side to become a mater of equality and women's power.

Through the years, man kind has approved only one definition of this emotion with the common phrase "The love a man has for a woman", but what happened to the love a woman has for a man? is it only that way or should love be something given and received. In The Wife of Bath we see what the author may think of what the "love of a woman" may mean.

The story begins with the prologue, a small introduction to the one that is telling the story and what the others think of her.  Although she may have been with many men during the last years, she has become in what she thinks is aware of what a woman's job in this world is, and in what civilian status should a woman of her age be.

She had been married to 5 men and all of them as she said, had a debt they had to pay her. During this story we see how the author sees women as the "man of the relationship" she has become the one that manages the family, the marriage and although in this time it was not common, now a days women occupy very important positions on our society.

Women in this story is shown as a person that need to be wedded, when the husband dies the next one comes. and so on. It has to be taken into consideration that at those times women was seen as the pleasure object a man had and as a breeder, in other words a machine that produced babies. In this story women is shown like this, but with a little twist. As already said every man she married owed her a debt, every man she had, needed to please her and accompany her until the end, showing that the author broke the normal parameters of what women symbolized in that time to convert it in the only thing that can control a man.

Yes, women can be the "man in the relationship" and after years of change and development, women has raised to become equal to men.

From Greece to Oxford

The Canterbury tales, continues to show us the different points of view about life of each one of the characters that make part of this trip. Now our author juxtaposes love and honor with the Miller's tale which is practically a joke of what the Knight had just told the group.

The Miller's tale is just another way to see how author thinks about love. In this story love is multiplied by three in comparison to the same objective, the carpenter's young wife. Three men where after the same person which created some funny and tragic incidents in the little town they where living in. A broken arm, a broken heart and a carnal love that never gave fruit of what real love is about, from the point of view of the author.

For me the writer expressed how human kind mocks love and converts it in something dirty and erotic, which at the end juxtaposes with the image of a love full of happiness and true feelings. Although this, both stories have the common thing about their thoughts on love, and they get to the conclusion that love is sad and that love is cause of many pain and grieve.

We all know that, but have you ever been really broken hearted?

Tears Of Love

The Knight's Tale, is the first story this group of travelers tells us, the first story that present the type of people this travelers are and what they are accustomed to do. In the case of the knight tells us a love story that ends up on tears and death.

This story represents the knighthood and what a big deal it meant to be a knight in this time when gods where the kings and queens of the heavens and love was real and pure. This story can be seen as a comparison to the present days, by comparing the meaning of honor. At that time the word honor meant something totally different and today it is almost a vague resemblance to the fidelity a husband has for a wife, in which many cases it doesn't exist. In this story Honor is what controls every action of everyones daily life, specially knights.  Does the word honor means something in today's world? Does a man fights for a women's love and it does it with honor and dignity? or did we became a bunch of fighting nomads that dispute in the most inhuman ways?

The Canterbury tales, specially this one, has a renovated version of the true meaning of love, which that for those times can be seen in many ways, as a love so deep that it is confused with the one of the gods, and a love that it is present since the first sight.

This is the best example we can get from this tale, because we see here how Arcite one of the brothers, thinks that he loved her first because he thinks he loves her as a women and not like his brother which may be confusing his love with a vision from the gods. This implies that the author is trying to show us that even in the old days, love may be confused with other types of feelings like respect and sense of honor like for example in this case love and respect for the gods.

Love and honor are two things inside this story that has shown that as time goes by it changes its significance and can be transformed into something really good or extremely bad.

MIGRATIONS by Dorian Merina

"Water rocks the hull of the ship and the dark night comes on the waves". With this small phrase the Dorian Merina starts her own explanation of the effects of the colonization in the Americas. They come and take, they raped our women and created the various races of people that are presently part of the American community.

In this poem, Merinda takes us back in history to show us the different consequences of this events that occurred hundreds of years ago. One of them is the extraction of goods and resources found on this continent.
"On the boats come the goods that cross the waters
    like veins and blood rushing
the goods cross the waters"
I want to share my personal thoughts about the meaning of this boats. In this piece, the author takes us to the boats used by the Europeans, the ones that take those resources that are now called limited. For me it is ironic how the Europeans took our goods on their boats that crossed the water, just after they where robbed by an Asian country which they controlled afterwards. The horrible effects of revenge had already taken International levels since the old times and maybe that is why our world is not as it is supposed to be. It is here where I can relate it to the poem. The Europeans in that time, created a road of "blood rushing" when they took our goods away and that started a story of violence that never had an end.

"like veins and goods the blood comes
crossing the waters"

Here our authors twists the facts and with it, it shows us another big effect of the European invasion. She changes the phrase so that the goods that cross the water can become a complementary way to show us what else crossed with it, that other thing was blood. Although allot of killings took place, our author is not talking about it. As historians tells us daily on the History Planet, when they arrived they not only took things but people, specially women. They combined and created the vast races that we have today with us. They combined and created the different versions of Europeans, natives and black ones that each time created a new floor between the Native social class and the Europeans. Since a long time ago, social classes killed our society made it more violent and made more and more insecure, because you where never sure where you stood on that pyramid.

All this effects have one common fact  between one and another. All this effects where the cause of violence not only in countries like Colombia, but also in Brazil and Venezuela. They took our goods and made us fight for what it was left, and they made us insecure with all their rules and religions. At the end blood spilling always win as key factor of the violence that still goes on in Latino America, which creates more victims every day, and make this world look worst than what it already is.
